ChatGPT in Slack vs Anyx in WhatsApp: a team buyer guide

Compare ChatGPT in Slack with Anyx in WhatsApp for team coordination. Check context, shared replies, setup, permissions and pricing before choosing a pilot.

By Michael Kisilenko · · 6 min read

Key takeaways

  • Start with where the team already works and the sources the assistant can actually use.
  • ChatGPT supports shared Slack replies; do not treat it as a private-only alternative.
  • Anyx combines tagged WhatsApp group replies with separate account and email AI Notes.
  • Check organizational availability, permissions and billing units before comparing costs.

Choose ChatGPT in Slack when your team’s work already lives there and your organization can configure the supported shared access. Consider Anyx for an existing WhatsApp work group that needs tagged answers and separate AI Notes. Compare the same coordination task, available sources and recipients before choosing either route.

Disclosure: this is the Anyx blog. This comparison uses public documentation, not hands-on testing. The team and messages below are fictional. Product documentation was checked on 1 November 2026; your account’s availability still needs checking.

Which conversation does your team already use?

An internal operations team may discuss work in Slack, while a small installation crew coordinates with suppliers in WhatsApp. Those are different starting points. A familiar AI name does not make a second channel the right place to collect the next update.

If your staff already use Slack and your organization can approve the documented setup, ChatGPT there may be the better fit. Keep the decision close to the people and sources involved. You do not need to move a working team into WhatsApp to consider this guide.

Anyx is an AI agent for WhatsApp groups. It is worth considering when the existing group is where people make commitments and ask follow-up questions. AI Notes is one separate feature, alongside tagged group replies. The broader connection guide explains setup routes; this guide asks which team surface fits the job.

What do the documented setups require?

OpenAI’s Slack and Teams administration guide describes organizational setup, approved conversation surfaces and configured app access. Shared replies are visible to conversation participants. Confirm availability with your organization before assuming your own subscription enables that deployment.

The setup involves platform and ChatGPT administrators, plus owners of approved connections. Plan who maintains those permissions when people or accounts change. A connection’s scope may differ from a participant’s personal access, so review what the assistant can use before inviting a broader audience.

For Anyx, connecting a WhatsApp group requires a paid plan or active trial. Follow the current connection instructions, tell members what the agent does and check that the group is connected to the intended account. Normal message capture starts after Anyx joins; older text needs explicit history import. See How AI Notes work.

Neither setup should be treated as permission to copy every company discussion into another tool. Start with a harmless, agreed task and the smallest necessary source set.

How should you compare the same team task?

This table compares documented routes, not accuracy or security scores. A shared answer and an account or email output can have different recipients even when they discuss the same work. Check the intended audience for each output.

Buyer question ChatGPT in Slack Anyx in WhatsApp
Where is the group discussion? A supported, configured Slack conversation A connected WhatsApp group
Who sees a shared reply? Participants in that conversation Members of the group where Anyx is tagged
Which extra sources can apply? Approved plugins and configured connections; inspect scope Check the relevant account/group permissions before using connected apps
What about separate follow-up notes? Check the output route for the chosen task; do not infer it from a channel reply AI Notes in the account and configured email recipients, never group posts
What needs ongoing attention? Workspace access, app approval and connection ownership Group connection, captured period and note recipients/settings

Do not mark a capability absent because this table leaves it unverified. In particular, OpenAI separately documents Teams and Team Tasks, including scheduled or event-triggered work. A channel reply does not establish that one of those tasks has been configured. Likewise, an Anyx tagged question does not configure a reminder or group routine.

What would a fair small-team exercise look like?

Use the same non-sensitive source excerpt and ask for the same output in whichever approved surface you evaluate. First establish that the assistant actually received that excerpt. Do not compare a complete conversation on one side with a partial copy on the other.

Fictional conversation, for illustration
Display repair teamFictional evaluation input, not product output
  1. DanaWe agreed to replace the worn display label.Decision
  2. LiorI'll prepare the replacement text.Task
  3. NoaI can check the wording if Lior sends me a draft.Missing detail
  4. OrenHas anybody approved the print file?Question
  5. DanaDon't print yet. Approval is still pending.Missing detail

A human review should preserve Lior’s accepted drafting task, Noa’s conditional review and the missing print approval. Oren asked a question; that does not make him the approver. Nothing establishes that a draft was sent or printing happened.

Score the result against the source, not how confident it sounds. Can you identify the accepted action, the dependency, the unanswered question and the restriction on printing? If the assistant lacks the source or cannot resolve a reference, an explicit uncertainty is preferable to a completed-looking plan.

Evaluation request for the approved team conversation

From the supplied discussion, list the accepted follow-up, any conditional offer and the missing approval. Keep the condition attached to the offer. Don't assign the approver role to whoever asked about approval, and don't treat a promise as completion. State any missing context. Draft an answer for this conversation only; we will check it against the source.

For Anyx, tag it in the connected group when making this request. For Slack, use your organization’s supported ChatGPT invocation. The prompt does not enforce technical authorization or prove either product will interpret every message correctly.

What does the pricing comparison actually tell you?

Prices checked on 1 November 2026, in US dollars, are list-price references rather than a quote for equivalent deployments. OpenAI’s pricing page lists Business at $25 per user per month with monthly billing, or $20 with annual billing, with a two-user minimum. That price alone does not confirm the Slack configuration is available to your organization. Enterprise pricing requires a quote; check platform charges and usage terms separately.

Anyx’s current plan configuration lists Starter at $35 a month with four groups, Pro at $60 with 30 and Max at $120 with 120. Its pricing page describes the current purchase terms. These are plan prices with group allowances, not a per-person price or a claim that every group needs its own subscription.

Count the people, groups and approved features you actually need. A lower headline number can omit a required workspace, account or usage cost. This guide does not establish a cheaper winner, matched feature coverage or your final bill.

What should you check before choosing?

If the work already happens in Slack and suitable organizational access exists, begin there. If it happens in WhatsApp, assess one connected group’s replies and Notes. If neither has the necessary approved sources, resolve that gap first rather than adding more accounts.

Review who can see the answer and who owns each connection. Our group app-permission guide covers the Anyx side. Check language, corrections and source references yourself; no comparative Hebrew accuracy, latency or reliability benchmark was run here.

The practical next step is one bounded exercise with an agreed source and intended recipients. Choose the route that fits the real conversation and passes that check. Keep sending, recurring tasks and broader access out of the first exercise unless separately configured and approved.

FAQ

Can ChatGPT reply to several people in Slack?

Yes. OpenAI documents shared replies in supported Slack conversations through a configured organizational setup. Availability and approved sources depend on the workspace and its configuration; a personal subscription alone does not establish that setup.

Should a team move from Slack to WhatsApp to use Anyx?

Not just for this comparison. A team already working in Slack may be better served by its supported ChatGPT setup. Consider Anyx when the coordination already happens in a WhatsApp group and its documented replies and separate Notes fit the task.

Is an AI Note the same as a reply in the group?

No. Anyx AI Notes are saved in the account and can be emailed to configured recipients. They are never posted to the group. A tagged group reply is shared in that conversation; Send to my WhatsApp is a manual private-chat action.

Did you test both products on a real team?

No. This is a documentation-based comparison checked on 1 November 2026. The fictional messages and evaluation checklist are proposed test material, not recorded product responses, customer evidence or a performance ranking.
